Training in Tenderness by Dzigar Kongtrul

A beautiful extract from a forward to this book by  Pema Chödrön

“According to the Buddhist view, all living beings—not only humans, but fish, insects, and every other creature—already possess tenderness in their hearts. As my root teacher Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche used to say, ‘All beings have the capacity for warm-hearted feelings. Everybody loves somebody or something, even if it’s just tortillas.’ ”

“We all have an infinite source of love in our hearts and the potential to enjoy that love deeply and to spread it widely through our interconnected world.”

Keeping this in mind let’s spread love and tenderness around remembering, that all living beings have this too.

In the words of Viktor Frankl:

“…the salvation of man is in love and through love.”
